“To teach is not to transfer knowledge but to create the possibilities for the production or construction of knowledge”.  ~ Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of Freedom

I believe that teachers are responsible for guiding students to new levels of awareness of their world, for creating spaces for freedom, critical thinking and creativity, sparking a love for learning and instilling the courage and self-confidence to transform the world into a better place to live.  Within the classroom I like to create a sense of common purpose and a culture of positive reinforcement for students to overcome fears of expression while they challenge themselves to see the world differently.
